Netherton 2021: A review of our year in news banners.

2021 has been a strange, exhausting, occasionally difficult but ultimately successful year for Netherton Foundry. I guess our business life has just mirrored the realities of our everyday lives. Supermarkets ran out of items and we struggled to find cardboard boxes. At home gas prices have gone through the roof, at the workshops copper prices have soared in recent months!

For the most part, the workshop has come through battered but luckily, mostly in one piece. Our staff have been phenomenal, coping with the stress of lockdowns, home schooling and the pressures of a changing world. 2021 saw our sales in Europe become very complicated, but we fought to overcome the obstacles and the changes in USA opened up new opportunities. Our stockists have faced tremendous challenges too and we applaud their stoic response to everything that the uncertainties of lockdown threw at them.

Thankfully our customers haven't tired of baking, expanding their repertoire beyond the 2020 banana bread and sourdough. And they have also been choosing products from our ever widening range, who would have guessed that tortilla presses and dough scrapers would become everyday essentials for Netherton.

Our friends in the retail, writing, food and hospitality world have had such a challenging year but have remained unwavering in their support of us and our products, we thank you all.
