As Tony Turnbull points out in last weekend’s Times magazine (18 .10.2025) there’s little that can beat a packet of prawns, if you want protein in a hurry.

A packet of frozen prawns is no longer considered a luxury and can be defrosted in 10 minutes if you simply dunk the packet in a bowl of warm water. They can then be cooked in two to three minutes – on the table in about half an hour. These are the type of midweek meals that serve up oodles of flavour, with a minimum commitment to time and effort. A winning equation in our books!
