Fire cooking with Jolly Allotment and Netherton Foundry
There’s so much more to cooking over fire, as demonstrated here by Polly Baldwin. Using a Netherton Foundry Dutch oven, her favourite piece of outdoor cooking kit, she rustled up a delicious dish, which not only tastes good but also does you good. Polly the polymath is an amazing photographer as well as being a talented chef, with a broad and deep knowledge of cooking for both taste and health.
The Dutch oven is a convenient and versatile piece of equipment that can be used in even the smallest outdoor space, but produces meals with the biggest flavours.
Celebrating the very best of English Spring produce with the best of British cookware. Fire cooking in the sunshine with our iron chapa griddles cannot be beaten. Polly not only cooks the finest asparagus, but also explains not only does it taste good, it so good for us too. Polly from Jolly Allotment is a polymath. An amazing photographer as well as being a talented chef, with a broad and deep knowledge of cooking for both taste and health.
Polly Baldwin & Jolly Allotment.

Polly the polymath, is the force of nature behind Jolly Allotment, which in itself is all about using the power of nature to positively impact your emotional and physical health and wellbeing. She advovates that gut health is at the core of promoting a healthy life and they promote this through “retreats, events and experiences in nature to inspire and motivate you to reconnect with yourself for a calmer, healthier and more abundant life.”
Her own experience of debilitating physical symptoms such as headaches, chronic fatigue, arthritic joints, sore muscles, eczema, constant pain in her ovaries, brain fog, memory loss, numb limbs, nervous system issues for which modern medicine offered no solution led her to look for alternatives to lead her out of the pain, anxiety, anger and depression.
“She turned to ancient times and places in the world where there are no autoimmune diseases to learn how they live, and gradually reclaimed her own health through regenerating her gut health with plants, bone broth and ancient ways of being.”
Today she is a naturopathic chef, educator, speaker, photographer and, we are proud to say, a friend of Netherton Foundry and champion of our outdoor cooking equipment.
