Abundance: Netherton Foundry in conversation with writer, Mark Diacono at the Ludlow Food Festival

On Sunday 14th September at 2:30pm you will find us in the Netherton Foundry Castle Garden tent at Ludlow Food festival. We are excited and nervous in equal measure about chatting to Mark Diacono about his new book, Abundance. `An award winner author and honorary professor at the University of Liverpool, Mark “spends his time eating, growing, writing and talking about food.” The order of these activities is lifted from the book, so it’s fair to assume that Mark is driven by his appetite. And aptly enough the book is indeed deeply appetising.

Diana Henry describes it as his best yet and who are we to disagree?
With a plethora of must-make recipes, a light sprinkling of carefully judged profanities (warning contains strong language - an X-rated cook book anyone?) and a commentary on his daily life that would impress Lord Reith, being informative, educational, but above all entertaining, this is a cook book like no other.

We have in no way been influenced by the fact that several photos of food cooked in or presented on Netherton Foundry cookware appear in the book. No, seriously, we haven’t. We are delighted that Mark has used his Netherton cookware to culinary and artistic advantage, but we admired him long before he discovered us. Applications to join the mutual appreciation society are, however, now open.
